EMERGENCES: Film and Painting Synthesis  Click THUMBNAIL IMAGES BELOW for larger view.

This series of images was accomplished using "in camera" multiple exposures which combined painted elemenets and photographs. Complex methods using turntables, painted forms, colored gels  and photographs were built up "in camera", sometimes requiring as many as 10 exposures on a single frame. In each dynamic abstract space, humans emerge or disappear after  struggling.  Sometimes sexual tension is obvious in them, sometimes not.  Although the images were created using both painted and photographic elements, the final art is a photographic print.  Only in no.19 and no.20 does a human figure not appear. Actual images are 8.5 by 11 or 12 by 16 matted larger.
